Cow-calf production has always been a component of Maddux Cattle Co. and will continue in the future. The next generation at MCC will focus on developing 5,000 to 8,000 steers annually, dry wintered on corn stalks and millet windrows, grazing on native range in the spring.

This year’s offering includes 5,000 steers: 1,000 home-raised, red composite steers and 4,000 purchased black steers weighing approximately 1,000 lbs., selling at Ogallala Livestock on July 9, 2026. All steers will be sorted by size and color upon arrival at Ogallala Livestock.

The steers will be onsite for viewing prior to the sale.

For anyone interested in viewing the steers on grass, contact: John Maddux (308) 350-1133.
